11.1.3 How It Is Diagnosed
May present in many ways at any age.
11.1.4 Nutritional Implications
Children with neurodevelopmental delays are at increased risk for:
- Altered growth (i.e., underweight, overweight, short stature).
- Inadequate energy and nutrient intake to support growth and health.
- Feeding problems related to oral – motor and/or behavior difficulties.
- Need for enteral (tube) feeding.
- Chronic constipation or diarrhea.
- Gastroesophageal reflux.
