Mechanism of Action
An antitumor antibiotic that inhibits the ADA enzyme and causes cell lysis.
Indications
Alpha-interferon-refractory hairy cell leukemia in adults.
Metabolism/Excretion
Metabolized in the liver; excreted in urine.
Dosage Range
♦ Adult: 4 mg/m2 IV every other week.
♦ Pediatric: Safety and effectiveness not established.
