Mechanism of Action
An antimitotic agent that inhibits microtubule formation by interfering with nucleic acid synthesis.
Indications
Non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer.
Metabolism/Excretion
Metabolized in the liver; excreted in urine and feces.
Dosage Range
♦ Adult: 30 mg/m2 IV once weekly. Adjust for hematologic toxicity, hepatic dysfunction, or concomitant use with cisplatin for non-small cell lung cancer.
♦ Pediatric: Safety and effectiveness not demonstrated.
