Mechanism of Action

Not understood. This natural retinoid may play a role in hematopoiesis and immune function. Inhibits the proliferation of acute promyelocytic leukemia.


Indications

Acute promyelocytic leukemia.


Metabolism/Excretion

Metabolized in the liver; excreted in urine and feces.


Dosage Range

♦ Adult: 45 mg/m2 per day PO in two divided doses. Discontinue 30 days after remission is obtained or after 90 days.
