Mechanism of Action

A derivative of the L-asparaginase enzyme, which destroys
the amino acid asparagine needed for cancer cell proliferation. Inhibits malignant cell production.


Indications

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia in patients hypersensitive to native forms of L-asparaginase.


Metabolism/Excretion

Small amounts are excreted in urine and bile.


Dosage Range

For adults and children with a body surface area of ≥0.6 m2, 2500 IU/m2 every 14 days. For children with a body surface area of <0.6 m2, 82.5 IU/kg every 14 days.
