To decrease physical disability and reduce the frequency of clinical exacerbations in relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis.

After IM injection, serum levels peak between 3 and 15 hours with an elimination half-life of 10 hours. After SQ injection, serum levels peak between 3 to 18 hours with an elimination half-life of 8.6 hours.
