Mechanism of Action

Induces DNA strand breaks by an interaction with DNA-topoisomerase II or the formation of free radicals.


Indications

♦ Refractory testicular tumors (as combination therapy with other approved agents in patients who have already received appropriate surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy)

♦ Small cell lung cancer (in combination with other approved agents as first-line treatment)


Metabolism/Excretion

Similar to that of etoposide.


Dosage Range

Equivalent to the etoposide doses previously mentioned. Modify dosage in patients with renal impairment and when myelosuppression occurs as a result of prior radiation and chemotherapy treatment.
